<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not trying to 'flame' (netiquette my arse!), but JB, please take some of your own advice:It's a great place for people to exchange their views and opinions on the art (yes chance the ART) of filmmaking.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I can't believe this debate is still going on. If Chance doesn't think film is art, who cares? The man's entitled to his own opinion.

meanwhile Chance heads down the pub.

I don?t care who made up ?Netiquette?; I will not let it slide. I?m making a stand here; I?m drawing a line in the sand! If you want to be taken seriously in whatever you do, then you must be able to communicate effectively. If someone sends me a script or a proposal or a treatment that is riddled with spelling or grammatical error I throw it away and tell him or her to try again. The illiterate will not dictate to me. Sure, the odd mistake is normal, especially when typing, I make them myself, and you can probably find a lot of examples in this forum alone. But to write:Originally posted by Chance1234:

?If thats all you know then don't play with the big boy's go away and come back when you have taken the stabilisers off your bike.?
Then I sure as hell am going to pick you up on it. If you?re going to insult me then do it in a language that I can understand. What you wrote is not even a sentence! It has only a passing resemblance to English.
And, by the way, since you?re such a fan of netiquette try this:
?Re-read and edit your posting carefully before you post.
Check the spelling and grammar.?
It?s from the USENET guidelines for netiquette. So, in fact, you broke the rules first. I will allow, however, that the fool who wrote the guidelines does not know the basic rules of grammar either. There are two mistakes in the first sentence that I quoted above. Not picking people up on bad English; and I mean this ONLY to people who use it as a first language as I know you do; (don?t flame me about picking on people with English as a second or other language) is a weak excuse to be lazy.

That whirring noise you can hear is Strunk getting up to 7200 r.p.m.
Damn, they've found me out. Thanks for the lesson in humility Kev; I really can be an arse sometimes, can't I?
In my defence though, I think I did post somewhere that I reserve the right to contradict myself, change my mind, and make no sense.

I think I'll paint a big target on my chest.
then taking you up on that, i wont mention Middle english and smack you in the face with a cold cod for the shakespeare reference.
Middle English? What the hell are you talking about? And, what's wrong with naming Shakespeare as one of the greatest exponents of the English language?
